Yoshiharu Hoshino

Chief Executive Officer, Hoshino Resorts

Yoshiharu Hoshino is the CEO of Hoshino Resorts and a fourth-generation hotelier, leading a 70-property portfolio across Japan and internationally under Hoshino’s six brands. He is known for revitalizing regional resorts through a ryokan-inspired multitasking management model and for pioneering Japan’s first tourism-focused REIT, listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. These efforts culminated in the 2005 reconstruction of his family ryokan as HOSHINOYA, now the company’s flagship brand, which is central to its expansion in Japan and overseas. Looking ahead, Mr. Hoshino is guiding the company’s next phase of growth with upcoming marquee openings including HOSHINOYA Nara Prison (opening 2026), HOSHINOYA Asuka (opening 2027) and its first new-build U.S. property, an onsen ryokan-inspired resort in Sharon Springs, New York (opening 2028).
