Gonzalo Aguilar joined Minor Hotels in October 2024 and assumed the role of Chief Operations Officer of Minor Hotels, Europe & Americas, in January 2025. In this position, he oversees the company’s operations and growth strategy in Europe and the Americas, leveraging his extensive industry experience to drive innovation and results.Gonzalo began his career at Marriott International in 1994, holding various roles in Food and Beverage and leadership positions across the Americas, including general manager positions in Miami, Costa Rica, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Brazil, where he also served as Country Managing Director.

In 2010, he moved to Europe as Vice President of Operations for AC Hotels by Marriott, successfully leading the integration of AC Hotels into Marriott’s management, including sales and marketing platforms, e-commerce and loyalty programmes. He later held prominent leadership positions as Area Vice President for Southern Europe and Eastern Europe, overseeing operations across several markets and driving significant growth in both regions.
Before joining Minor Hotels, Gonzalo was Chief Operations Officer for Europe at Marriott International from 2020, where he was responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of hotels and ensuring operational excellence across the region. Under his leadership, the European region achieved significant growth and profitability, even during challenging times for the industry.
