Polar Explorer and Owner-Manager of Vigur Heritage Farm and Nature Reserve

Felicity Aston MBE is a British polar explorer who has spent nearly three decades undertaking challenging expeditions across the Arctic region, from Svalbard and Greenland to Siberia and the Canadian far north. She now lives in northwest Iceland where she owns and manages Vigur Island, an Arctic bird reserve which receives more than 12,000 international visitors a year. Alongside her Icelandic husband, she has recently established the Vigur Island Foundation, which aims to use income from tourism to fund conservation and research initiatives.
Aston has published five books about exploration and her expeditions, co-presented two BBC documentaries, and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in London and The Explorers Club in New York. She has been appointed MBE for services to exploration, as well as awarded the Polar Medal by the late Queen Elizabeth II.
