Kevin West is a writer, photographer, and editor at large for Travel + Leisure. He’s originally from East Tennessee and lived in New York, Paris, and Los Angeles before settling in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. In addition to writing, photographing, and creating recipes for two cookbooks—mostly recently The Cook’s Garden: A Gardener’s Guide to Selecting, Growing, and Savoring the Tastiest Vegetables of Each Season (Knopf)—Kevin has reported stories from seven continents. He believes that all good Americans, when they die, will go to Italy.
